The Support Committee is a group of dedicated volunteer parents and community members who provide support so the corps can run effectively.

The Support Committee works in partnership with corps staff to ensure the viability of the unit. Their support is intended to compliment the resources available from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The 557 Support Committee is supervised by The Army Cadet League of Canada (Ontario). The committee is comprised of cadet parents and community volunteers tasked with providing suitable accommodations for cadet training and activities, promoting the Cadet Program to the community, youth and their parents, managing cadet funds, and fundraising initiatives at the community level to support the cadets of the 557 Lorne Scots Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps.
The Sponsoring Committee is responsible for (not limited to):
Inviting suitable persons to be members of the Support Committee
Liaising with other cadet unit Support Committees
Providing appropriate accommodation for the corps training, administration and stores when it is not provided by the CAF
Providing training aids and equipment, including band instruments, not supplied by the CAF
Providing transportation, when not available from the CAF, for local training exercises
Providing for the financial and administrative needs of the squadron
Supporting Ontario Provincial Committee activities
Providing such other facilities or assistance as may be mutually agreed upon between the Sponsor, the Support Committee, and the CAF
